Martin Wojnowski began his artistic journey in the early 1990s, creating watercolour illustrations of interiors for London-based designers. These presentation visuals soon evolved, as Martin began introducing subtle disruptions—figures hiding in corners, misplaced objects—transforming technical renderings into scenes with narrative tension and artistic intrigue.
Today, his work offers a distinctive and thought-provoking lens on urban life and the human experience. Influenced by Realism, Surrealism, Magical Realism, and Pop Art, Martin has cultivated a visual language that invites viewers to pause, reflect, and question. His compositions blur the line between fiction and reality, weaving together symbolic imagery, bold colour, and layered narratives drawn from personal memories, current events, myths, and fables.
Extensive travel plays a vital role in Martin’s creative process, fueling fresh perspectives and broadening his artistic vision. His encounters with diverse cultures and environments continually spark new ideas, contributing to a global viewpoint that transcends borders and embraces multiculturalism.
Though British by nationality, Martin considers himself a true citizen of the world—an independent thinker with a keen sense of irony, curiosity, and introspection.
Producing approximately 25 works annually, Martin has attracted a loyal base of collectors in both Europe and the United States. His work is celebrated for its ability to combine storytelling, symbolism, and visual beauty into paintings that resonate deeply and provoke thought.
